The AudioQuest Wind is a statement-level RCA interconnect built for audiophiles who refuse to compromise. At 0.75 meters, this demo pair delivers the full Wind experience — a cable that doesn't just connect your components, it gets out of the way and lets the music breathe.
Imagine settling into your listening chair, pressing play, and hearing your favorite recording with a new sense of space, texture, and presence. That's what Wind does. Its ultra-pure conductors and precision geometry strip away the subtle distortions that rob music of its life, leaving behind only what the artist intended.
SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER (PSS) CONDUCTORS
AudioQuest's highest-purity metal, processed to near-flawless surface quality. Solid conductors eliminate strand interaction, while PSS minimizes grain-boundary distortion — delivering unprecedented clarity, dynamic contrast, and a vanishingly low noise floor compared to OFHC, OCC, or 8N copper alternatives.
FEP AIR-TUBE INSULATION
Air is the ideal dielectric — it absorbs almost no energy. FEP Air-Tube insulation surrounds each solid conductor with air, dramatically reducing energy storage and release that smears transients and collapses soundstage focus. The result: tighter imaging, faster dynamics, and a more natural tonal balance.
TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY
A dedicated ground-reference conductor means the shield is never pressed into service as a signal path. Both positive and negative conductors enjoy equally low-distortion paths — whether terminated with RCA or XLR, the geometry is uncompromised.
CARBON-BASED 6-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)
RFI captured by the shield doesn't drain to ground — it's absorbed and reflected by alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics before it can modulate the ground plane. The result is a blacker background and a more stable, coherent signal reference.
DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS) WITH RF TRAP
AudioQuest's patented DBS keeps the insulation in a continuously biased state, eliminating the time-smearing phase shifts caused by unbiased dielectrics. An integrated RF Trap (derived from the Niagara power product line) prevents RF noise from coupling into the signal conductors from the DBS field elements. (US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1)
COLD-WELDED HANGING-SILVER PLUGS OVER HIGH-PURITY RED COPPER
Terminations are cold-welded — no heat, no solder flux, no oxidation — directly over high-purity red copper plugs plated with hanging silver for optimal conductivity and long-term connection integrity.
