Overview

The Vivid Audio KAYA 25 loudspeakers are available in factory-sealed boxes and have been marked down substantially.

I originally planned to use these in my own home, but I decided to go with a pair of Rockport Lynx instead. That creates a wonderful opportunity for someone looking for a truly special loudspeaker at a very attractive price.

The Vivid Audio speakers are easy to enjoy and flexible to drive. I have personally used the KAYA 25 with a 50-watt Wattson Audio amplifier, a wonderful CH Precision integrated amplifier, an EAR V12, and several other electronics with no issue. They reward quality electronics, but they do not demand a complicated system to sound musical and engaging.

Technology

A New Listening Experience

The KAYA 25 is a two-way speaker, with the alloy-coned C125D drive unit handling both bass and mid frequencies. Adopting a technology previously used only in our GIYA bass drivers, the driver is fitted with a radial rare-earth magnet, which ensures clean, transparent sound right to the top of its range. The laws of physics dictate that the sound becomes more focused and directional at the upper end of the frequency range. To match this, the D26 tweeter is mounted in a shallow waveguide, ensuring that the sound field remains completely seamless. The effect is a compelling listening experience that holds your attention and draws you into the music.

A Slimline Profile with Hidden Depths

Although it's a two-way system, KAYA 25 still benefits from the same patented Tapered Tube bass loading found in the larger KAYA family and the GIYA loudspeakers. In the KAYA 25, the exponential absorber horn is cleverly concealed in the stand — giving the loudspeaker a slim, unobtrusive outline that finds its place effortlessly in almost any setting. KAYA is the Zulu word for 'home'.

A Welcome Addition to the Family

If the profile of KAYA 25 seems familiar, it may be because it recalls the bestselling OVAL B1 Decade. The absorber horn is wrapped into the OVAL stand — a logical development that works as beautifully as expected. The result is bass reproduction with the same clarity and articulation as both the larger KAYA models and the GIYA loudspeakers: every note is perfectly distinct and free from blurring.
